Tutorial: CRAW (Cubic Right-Angle Weave)



Needed Materials:

4mm beads

Fireline thread 6lb

Needle #12







Step 1:


Pick up 4 beads.

Pass back through all four beads.

Pass through the next three beads.

This is what it should look like.

Step 2:


Pick up 3 beads.

Pass back around through the bead you are exiting.

Pass through two of the three beads just added.

Repeat step 2 to add a 3rd unit.

This is what it should look like.

Step 3:


Now it’s time to begin connecting our units. Pick up 1 bead.

Pass through the first bead added.

Pick up 1 bead.

Pass through the last bead added.

This is what it should look like.

Pass through the beads until you have reached a loose (unconnected) unit.

Step 4:


Here we have a loose unit. We need to connect the four beads to each other.

Pass through all four beads to connect them

This is what your newly connected unit should look like.

Repeat step 4 to connect the second loose unit.

All of your units should now be connected and forming a cube.

Step 5:


Now it’s time to continue building units. Pick up 3 beads and pass back through the bead you are exiting.

Pass through the next bead of your unit.

Pick up 2 beads and pass through both the first bead added, and the next bead of your unit.

Pass through the next bead of your unit.

Pick up 2 beads and once again, pass through the first bead added, and the next bead of your unit.

Pass through the next bead of your unit.

Pass up through the next bead.

Pick up 1 bead and pass through all three beads shown.

This is what it should look like.

Time to connect your new unit. Pass through all four beads to connect them.

Repeat step 5 until you are satisfied with the length of your design.


And you are finished!
